ST THOMAS REUNION

The countdown to the St Thomas school reunion has begun as the first Sydney fund-raiser night was staged successfully on saturday March 17th. First picture L-R: Mansus Knight, Angie Fraser and Glen Underwood. Some photos here.

Some of the ladies attending the St Thomas function wore green as it was also St Patric's Day weekend. The master of ceremonies for the night, Isimeli Cagica got everybody in the mood by leading in the singing of the Irish classic "Danny Boy".

SYDNEY FIJI MUSICIANS

The Sydney Fiji Musicians fund-raiser night for their trip to Fiji, kicks off with a George Benson instrumental number played masterfully by Lawrence Foon on acoustic guitar. Backing up on electric guitar is well known guitarist George Knight, with John Shankaran on the drums.Veteran musician Henry Foon can also be seen adjusting equipement in the background. It was a great night with Fiji's best musos putting on a superb performance at the Padstow Bowling Club, NSW. More photos here.

FIJI DAY 2011

The Fiji Day celebrations at Central Coast was held in style with well over 400 people in attendance. The picture shows George Simpson in warrior costume during a lively meke.Check out these pictures.

The St Thomas fund raiser night for the floods in Fiji was a great success. It was held at Wenworthville, where many commented that it was a much more convenient and accessible location. Pictured here is ace lead guitarist Kuki Nayacakalou playing lead on stage for the song "Fiji my paradise".

The theme was Bollywood Night.This group shows how its done.

BIRTHDAY BOY

The big moment arrives as Nicholas Bennion gets ready to blow out the candles on his birthday cake. On saturday February 25th a crowd of family and friends gathered to celebrate the 70th birthday of Nicholas Bennion. People came in from NZ, Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle to celebrate the Ba boys life. Some photos.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA

The first Fijian to take a photo with the memorial to the fabled red dog of Pilbara. Yes, Terry Riley originally from Ryde, in Sydney now works out in Western Australia in the Pilbara region. Here he is with his work mates posing with the red dog statue outside of Dampier. The red dog is the adopted motif of the Pilbara region of WA and is eulogised in the recent Aussie block-buster movie "Red Dog", which everyone should see.
